Treating Amelogenesis Imperfecta

Posterior Open Bite and Amelogenesis Imperfecta

A Single Bite Correction Treatment with Superior Cosmetic Benefits

This is not possible with cosmetic dentistry and porcelain veneers

Santa Monica • Beverly Hills • Los Angeles

The patient’s enamel did not form completely. Amelogenesis imperfecta causes the tooth color to be brown, gray or yellow. Because of the weaker enamel the teeth have increased risk decay and are hypersensitive to temperature, experience rapid attrition of the enamel, increased calculus deposition, and gingival hyperplasia.  This patient also had a posterior open bite whereby none of his back teeth touch normally.  This patient is a perfect candidate for non-invasive bite correction.

Non-Invasive bite correction required no drilling down of his teeth, no shots, no jaw surgery and no braces. His posterior open bite was corrected using VENLAY® Restorations, JawTrac® and the Face Lift Dentistry® Method.

Posterior Open Bite: “My Back Teeth Don’t Touch”

Many patients have trouble biting their back teeth together because it is very uncomfortable for them to move their jaw back to make the teeth touch.  They also don’t like that they have a small chin and a deep overbite.  This patient cannot make his back teeth touch at all so he has to eat with only his front teeth.  When patients have bad bites, they loose function.  They cannot chew as well and usually have digestive problems.

All 28 teeth were treated with VENLAY® Restorations. His jaw position was developed with JawTrac and the Face Lift Dentistry® method ties everything together so this patient’s treatment was completed in a total of 5 days.

Amelogenesis Imperfecta Treatment

The dentists he saw wanted to do extensive jaw surgery on his upper jaw that would hospitalize the patient and require years of braces.  Then he would need to have his teeth ground down for porcelain crowns and porcelain veneers.  These recommendations are highly invasive, have very high risk and the results are not nearly as predictable as the Face Lift Dentistry® Method.

Face Lift Dentistry® Explained

Everyone has an ideal location for the lower jaw but unfortunately, most of us are not fortunate enough to experience the best jaw position.  Some patients look like they have a small chin when in fact their chin size is normal.  Other patients appear to have a very large lower jaw but when the bite is built to reposition the lower jaw, the chin and jaw look smaller.  Patients that need overbite correction and underbite correction have a jaw position that they have never experienced that would help them live a higher quality life.  Older patients with bad bites caused by worn down yellow teeth age prematurely, do not sleep as well because they have lost space for their tongues and they usually cannot chew their food properly.  The effects of aging can be reversed in just a matter of days.  Younger patients can now live their lives to the fullest at a much earlier age with this method

Presently, Dr. Sam Muslin is the only dentist using his JawTrac®, VENLAY® Restorations with the Face Lift Dentistry® method.  He invented, developed and trademarked his life changing treatment.
